Troubleshooting Log-In Issues After Name Change
After the name switch over, you may have issues logging in to Office 365, Outlook or Timesheets. If you’re having issues logging in to any of these services, follow the instructions below:
Clearing saved credentials from Credential Manager
- Open the start menu, type in Credential Manager and open it.
- Select Windows Credentials
- Click on any credentials under Generic Credentials that include anything relating to Office in its name.
- Look for words like Outlook, MicrosoftOffice16, msteams, and OneDrive
- Select remove to delete those credentials from your machine.
- Try to log in to Outlook, Office365 and Timesheets.
Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies
Google Chrome
- Select the three dots on the top right of your browser and select Settings.
- Scroll down and open the Advanced drop down.
- Scroll down and click on Clear browsing data.
- Switch to the Advanced tab, switch the time range to All time and only check off Cookies and other site data.
- Click on Clear Data to clear your cookies and cache.
- Try to log in to Outlook, Office365 and Timesheets.
Mozilla Firefox
- Select the three lines on the top right of your browser and select Options.
- Switch to the Privacy & Security section on the left side of the window.
- Under History, select “clear your recent history.”
- Change the time range to Everything and only check off Cookies and Cache.
- Click on Clear Now to clear your cookies and cache.
- Try to log in to Outlook, Office365 and Timesheets.
Microsoft Edge
- Select the three dots on the top right of your browser and select Settings.
- Select Choose what to clear under Clear browsing data.
- Check off Cookies and saved websites and Cached data and files.
- Click on Clear Data to clear your cookies and cache.
- Try to log in to Outlook, Office365 and Timesheets.
- If your browser is not listed, use Google to search how to clear your cookies and cache.
If you’re still having issues after clearing all credentials stored on your machine and after clearing your browser’s cookies and cache, continue with these instructions:
Re-creating your Outlook profile
- Open the Start menu, search for Control Panel and open it.
- Search for Mail and open it.
- Click on Show Profiles and remove the Outlook profile.
- Open Outlook to create a new profile by following the prompt and logging in.
