Setting up Notifications on your Desktop
Click on your Profile picture in Teams on the top Right; then select Settings and then Notifications.
You may test the out the notifications to see how you’d like it but for now, I’d suggest you follow what I have done in the image below. (I actually want the sound be only Call and not mention or Chat it won’t let me select it. Can anyone else figure it out?)
Setting up Notifications in your Mobile App
(These instructions are for iphone, though I’m sure they are similar for other devices).
Open your app; select the hamburger and then click on Notifications
Select Quiet Hours similar to your DND in Slack. I don’t do these because my sleep app that I use automatically turns off any notifications when I’m asleep but if you don’t use something similar you may want to turn these on for your normal sleeping hours. From this team’s Slack history, people really only slack during non-work hours if it’s important so I’d caution from making your Quiet hours for a lot of your awake time.
Select “When I’m not active on desktop” for your Send Notifications Settings.
For your “notify me for” settings, I’ve turned everything on, except Likes, Team update alerts and Trending.
This is a personal choice but I turn off notification sounds and vibration personally since I look at my phone enough to catch Slack messages now.
